Laura Tibodeau is the Chief Information Officer and Chief Security Officer at Americas Styrenics LLC (“AmSty”), a chemical manufacturing company headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas which makes up part of the nation’s critical infrastructure. During her seven-year tenure at AmSty, Laura led the buildout and maturation of the company’s entire IT organization and systems portfolio, cyber security function and portfolio, and risk management policies and procedures. During this period, she has also served as a partner and visionary, encouraging leading cyber suppliers to strengthen and expand their offerings into critical security gap areas.

Laura also serves as the honorary Chairman of both the CIO’s of the American Chemistry Council (ACC “ChemITC”) and the CISO’s of the ACC ChemITC. Within the American Chemistry Council CISO function, she has promoted the establishment of cyber benchmark performance surveys and metrics across the chemicals industry. Laura additionally serves on the Advisory Board of the Evanta Houston CISO Forum, the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas (where her passion is encouraging women in the field of STEM), and the Board of Directors for the Americas SAP Users Group Association (“ASUG”).

During her 30-year career in IT, Laura has worked at Tracor Aerospace, IBM, Texas Instruments, Compaq Computer Corporation (Hewlett Packard), and most recently Americas Styrenics.

Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University (College Station, TX) and a Master of Engineering from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX). Laura also holds multiple US Patents.
