Tim Stanley is the former Director of Information and Infrastructure Security for Waste Management and is responsible for development and execution of WM's enterprise-wide IT security strategy and integrating security related programs within each business unit.  Tim is also responsible for development and implementation of IT security standards and ensuring that appropriate tools and metrics are in place to allow for effective monitoring, measurement and control of risk as it relates to IT security.

Prior to joining WM, Tim was the Chief Information Security Officer of Continental Airlines, one of the most respected major airlines.  Tim was previously Chief Security Officer of American Fidelity Group and has worked as an Information Assurance consultant supporting several state and federal agencies.  Prior to his consultancy efforts, Tim proudly completed a twenty-year career with the U.S. Air Force where he focused on various research and development projects supporting global electronic intelligence and information warfare.

Over the past several years, Tim has been a Co-Chair at the Houston CISO Executive Summit, including as keynote speaker, a presenter at Symantec Vision Conference, and as a panelist at RSA Conference.  In addition to his conference participation, Tim has been quoted in publications from the Wall Street Journal to CSO magazine as a trusted source for information security strategy, risk management, compliance practices, and regulatory controls (SOX, PCI, HIPAA, JCAHO, and ISO 27001). 

Tim earned a B.S. in Computer Networking from Regis University (Summa cum Laude). Among several technical certifications, Tim has also earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification with a concentration in Information Systems Security Management. Tim is the founding President of the Oklahoma City chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) and has served on the board of other ISSA chapters.  Tim is a current member of the ISSA International Ethics Committee.
