Zachary Ross is a Senior Technical Program Manager in the Transaction Risk Management Services organization at Amazon, one of the largest e-commerce sites in the world.  Zack is responsible for fraud and risk management across all of Amazon’s sites and subsidiaries.  This includes protecting customer accounts from external threats, establishing company-wide fraud mitigation policies, and architecting systems to carry those policies out.  His team at Amazon works to stop phishing attacks, malicious software, and automated attacks in an attempt to make Amazon the safest and most trusted place to shop online.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Ross was a Senior Technical Director at AT&T and led the effort within the Chief Security Office to safeguard all of AT&T’s 4,000 web application properties.  In this role, Mr. Ross was responsible for defining the company’s online security strategy and building the necessary compliance frameworks to implement that plan.  Specifically, his team performed code reviews, conducted penetration testing, and tested network perimeter defenses for high risk sites.

Over the past twelve years, Mr. Ross has applied his passion for security to several small startups such as EzGov and Air2web.com as well as Fortune 100 companies.  Mr. Ross is a member of the Amazon Risk Management Network and an active participant in the IANS Information Security Forums.  Zack is a graduate of Georgia Tech with an M.S. in Computer Science and is also a graduate of Georgia State University with an M.A. in Religious Studies.
