Mr. Faxon is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with global responsibility for all data and systems security, protecting information and technology across multinational, complex, diversified organizations. A trusted advisor to CEOs, BoD, executive committees, CIOs, CTOs, and GCs. Valued for thought leadership, technical acumen, and business-positive approach to managing risks. Over twenty years of experience defining and overseeing security programs, developing people, forging partnerships and leading high-performance teams in North America, South America, Africa, Australia, Asia, and Europe. He has served the Aerospace & Defense, Travel and Entertainment, Legal, and Mining industries

He led the creation and expansion of Information Security functions. Establishing the strategic security vision for both IT and OT environments taking into account new and emerging cyber threats, evolving technology, and organizations unique needs. He has spearheaded major investments in information security systems including the overhaul of security governance, infrastructure, and expansion of network defenses and strengthening server and endpoint security. Established cyber threat intelligence programs, incident response programs and processes, and digital forensic capabilities along with establishing strategic partnerships with large-scale outsourced providers for both security operations, Red/Blue team assessments, and IR work. In addition, he has driven security contributions across cloud, mobile, and high-performance computing initiatives. Notable achievement include:

- Defined and led $50.1M global three-year IT/OT cybersecurity transformation strategy across all operating sites
- Formed partnerships with the DHS and FBI and founding member of the Metals and Mining Information Sharing Analysis Center (MM-ISAC) aimed to improve cybersecurity across the mining sector
- Driving strong, company-wide security culture through cyber-awareness training program resulting in an 81% reduction in Phish failure rates – resulting in ~3% monthly fail rates over >31k user base
- Establishing trust and a direct reporting relationship with the CEO, CTO, CIO, GC, and Board of Directors on cybersecurity
- Established enterprise-wide Cyber Steering Committee chaired by our GC, aligning senior stakeholders from HR, Physical, Risk, Legal, Operations, Audit, and IT
- Partnered with Digital Transformation Office (DPO) integrating security into key digital programs. Resulting in and support of $130M annual cost containment
- Productive engagement with government and security providers in the US and Australia, and compliance with US, European and Australian data protection regulations.
