Hafid Elabdellaoui serves as managing director of cybersecurity and information technology (IT) compliance for Duke Energy. He is responsible for cybersecurity strategy, architecture, operations and network defense, and the delivery and support of enterprise security solutions.

Prior to joining Duke Energy, Elabdellaoui held a variety of software engineering roles with the Revere group, a Chicago-based consulting firm, and at Digiquant, a telecom and software company.

Elabdellaoui has more than 19 years of experience in the IT and cybersecurity industry. He began his career with Duke Energy in 2002 as a software developer and security architect. He has served in a variety of technical and leadership positions within the information technology department, including manager of directory and security services support, and director of finance architecture and project management. He has also served as director of system architecture, supporting customer services, generation, transmission, distribution, gas operations and grid modernization. Elabdellaoui assumed his current position in September 2014.

Elabdellaoui holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He serves on the customer advisory boards for Symantec, the Institute of Applied Network Security and Hewlett-Packard.

Elabdellaoui and his wife, Jennifer, have three sons.
