Owen is the Director of Application Security Architecture within the Global Security Organization at ADP. His background is in software development, working as a part-time developer through both school and university, where he studied physics. After graduating, he worked as a developer for a subsidiary of DMGT, before moving to the US and ADP in 2002. In 2006, he transitioned from software development to the then-named "infosec team" within ADP, where he was able to use his technical abilities to identify and help remediate vulnerabilities, as well as training numerous developers on the art and science of secure software engineering. Over the next 12 years, his role has evolved to encompass security architecture and leading a team whose focus is on secure application architecture. His team's responsibilities include creation and maintenance of standards, threat modeling and analysis, developing security control requirements, and providing security and architecture consultancy to all the constituent parts of ADP.
