Mark Kelton is a seasoned leader with vast experience, knowledge and contacts in the intelligence and national security arenas. Having spent many years in the Central Intelligence Agency as one of the most senior ranking officers in the Clandestine Service, Mr. Kelton has tremendous expertise managing complexity, risk and relationships. He led activities pursuant to CIA’s most crucial missions, to include collection, counterterrorism, counterintelligence and cyber operations. Mr. Kelton concluded his career as Deputy Director of the National Clandestine Service for Counterintelligence, leading the unit that protected the Nation’s most closely guarded secrets. By virtue of his experience overseeing the Intelligence Community’s “Gold Standard” Insider Threat Detection program, Mr. Kelton has comprehensive expertise in the detection, investigation and mitigation of Insider Threats.

Proficient in four foreign languages, Mr. Kelton has lived and worked on most continents. His career included sixteen years of overseas service, to include four assignments in key CIA field leadership positions in the then war-torn Croatia, Russia, Austria and Pakistan. He has been responsible for both creating strategy and for the tactical execution of programs and activities vital to protecting the United States of America. In those capacities, he regularly interacted with the most senior levels of the Executive branch and Congress.

Mr. Kelton is the recipient of the CIA Distinguished Intelligence Medal, the CIA Distinguished Career Intelligence Medal, the Director of National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, the CIA Director’s Award, the 2015 Presidential Rank Award of Meritorious Senior Intelligence Officer, the CIA Intelligence Medal of Merit and numerous other awards.

Mr. Kelton is a consultant on insider threat, national security and intelligence issues. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Security Studies Program of the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, a member of the Board of Advisors of the Daniel Morgan Graduate School of National Security, an Advisory Board Director member for the Cyber Security Forum Initiative and is on the Insider Threat Subcommittee of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance.
