Gerry Young is currently the Secretariat Chief Information Officer (SCIO) for the Executive Office of Housing & Economic Development at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gerry previously held the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Office of Consumer Affairs (OCA) following a distinguished information technology (IT) career in the private sector. Gerry served with Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as Implementation Manager on the Connecticut Medicaid system. Previous EDS engagements included stints as Assistant Vice President running the Wireless business as part of EDS’ Communications Industry Group, and serving as systems management officer for the New Hampshire Medicaid system. Gerry also served as Vice President of IT Strategy and Business Development with Environmental Systems Products, and Eastern Regional Vice President with Renaissance Government Solutions where he ran the government consulting practice in the Eastern United States.

Gerry Young is a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he served with the 1st Special Operations Wing, and later was selected to support Air Force One and Air Force Two for President George H.W. Bush. His military decorations include the Department of Defense (DOD) Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal, and twice was selected as "Outstanding Airman of the Year." He was the 1988 Air Force nominee as one of the "Ten Outstanding Young Americans."

He holds undergraduate degrees from the University of New Hampshire (AAS) and Southern New Hampshire University (BS), Magna cum laude, and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He did his Doctor of Theology (ThD) work at Boston University and Harvard Divinity School as a Hebrew major and a Greek minor, and is currently in comprehensive exams to complete the coursework for his PhD in Organization and Management from Capella University. Gerry also holds an honorary Doctor of Divinity (DD) from the Trinity Institute for Christian Counseling, and completed the advanced management program at the Cox School of Business, Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. He has recently been admitted to the Advanced Project Management program for his Stanford Certified Project Manager (SCPM) certification at Stanford University.

His business awards include outstanding leadership awards from the EDS Communications Industry Group and MCI/WorldCom’s Government Markets, as well as inclusion in Strathmore’s Who’s Who in American Business and Stanford Who’s Who 2010. He is an active member of the Academy of Management, Society of Biblical Literature (SBL), American Academy of Religion (AAR), and American Mensa, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and American Legion. Gerry is also a life member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) with service-connected disabilities.
