As Senior Vice President & Global Chief Information Security Officer at Discovery Communications, Patricia Collins Weedon is responsible for Discovery’s global cyber security operations, technical security strategy and architecture, information security governance and IT risk management. She also creates award-winning information security awareness programs around cyber security to engage employees and partners. Ms. Collins Weedon has a long record of success in a variety of information security, IT risk and IT compliance positions, in both private and government sectors. Prior to joining Discovery in 2015, she served as Vice President and Global Chief Information Security Officer for Quintiles, where she was responsible for the company’s worldwide cyber security, with concentration in biotechnology information and data protection, in a highly regulatory compliance industry. Ms. Collins Weedon also previously served as Vice President of Information Security and Compliance for Warner Brothers, where she was responsible for all global aspects of information security and compliance worldwide. Additionally, she has more than ten years of experience within federal government supporting classified intelligence security operations.

Her roles within information security and data privacy management, as well as her wealth of global protection and security leadership experience, including the management of strategic converged security and business data protection programs, have established her as a thought leader in the cyber security and information security space.

Ms. Collins Weedon graduated from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management Executive Scholars Program, and achieved information security awards throughout her career. Ms. Collins Weedon is based at Discovery’s world headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland.
